Doug and Ann Myles Family Osher Scholarship for Humanities
The Doug and Ann Myles Family Osher Scholarship for Humanities is awarded to a high-achieving student who plans to transfer to a four-year university to pursue studies in the liberal arts.

I am so grateful to be receiving this award and I appreciate all the support and encouragement from my professors Toni Nielson and Meg O’Rourke. My freshman year at Fullerton College has been such an enjoyable experience and I look forward to continuing my education here next semester.

Alexa Palmer is an excellent example of the Osher principles. Alexa is a committed, hardworking, stellar student, who improves the classroom space for her peers and professors alike. She is inquisitive and self-driven. Alexa is passionate about her future transfer goals and law school. We are so pleased that she found Humanities as her home and is deserving of the Osher scholarship. I expect great things from her.

Alexa is a committed and passionate student, who is genuinely interested in the content of her classes, learning more, and improving her skills. She loves to read and write and seeks out additional feedback because she genuinely wants to improve her skills. Alexa also lifts up her classmates as she rises. She offers emotional support, encouragement, and academic advice. Overall, Alexa is a stellar student and member of the Fullerton College community.

Brooke Morales

I am so happy to have the privilege of receiving this award, it is a huge honor. I want to thank my incredible professors for taking the time to guide me through my academic journey. This award will help me to pursue my education further for which I am incredibly thankful.

Brooke Morales was a student in my English 104 class and one that espouses the growth mindset. During the semester, she often shared personal experiences and made relevant connections to our readings from her other classes such as philosophy. For peer review assignments, Brooke not only provided critical feedback for her peers but also expressed support and inspiration. She also openly accepted all feedback and applied it to the strong essays she produced. She deserves this award and recognition!

Nathalie Sy

Nathalie Sy is an active Hornet. She has been on the Dean’s list twice and is a member several clubs and campus organizations. Nathalie works to overcome challenges and successfully balances the need for a healthy life with being an active student. She demonstrates a growth mindset and credits the college for helping her stay on track during difficult times. Nathalie responds well to challenges and is an excellent example of a high-performing Osher award winner.
